The jar on the counter
You notice it before they say anything.
The jar moves to the back of the counter. Dinner gets simpler. When you ask, everything's fine.
It's a lid. That's all it is. But nobody wants to call their kid about a lid, so it sits there — and the next time you visit it's still sitting there, and you both act like you haven't seen it.
The workarounds are always the same. Hot water. Tap the rim with a knife. Wrap it in a dish towel. Wait for somebody to come over.
None of it works reliably on a new jar, because the hard part isn't the turning. It's the squeezing — clamping down hard enough to stop the lid slipping before you can turn it at all.
It grips. They turn.
Set it over the lid and press the button. Three claws close around the rim and hold it tight — that's the part that takes strength, and it's the part Levolift takes over.
Then they turn the handle. It's long on purpose: the further a hand sits from the centre of the lid, the less force the turn takes.
One hand steadies the jar, one hand turns. The lid comes off whole, so it screws straight back on. There's a bottle opener moulded into the end of the handle too.
Why this one and not the $30 one
Almost everything made for this problem is designed to announce it. Clinical white plastic. A product name with arthritis in it. A box that belongs behind a pharmacy counter.
They work. They also tell the person using them something about themselves, every single time — which is a large part of why so many end up in a cupboard, helping nobody.
This one is matte black with a lit ring around a single button. It sits on the counter looking like a kitchen appliance, because that's what it is. For a lot of people that's the difference between using it and putting it away.
Before you order
Arrives in 2–3 weeks. It ships directly from our manufacturer. We say so up front rather than burying it, because you should know before you order rather than after.
30-day guarantee. If it arrives damaged, stops working, or doesn't open the jars in their kitchen, email us and we'll replace it or refund you.
They won't ask for one
That's the part that makes this awkward, and it's why most of the people who buy this aren't the people who use it. If you've already noticed the jar, you're the one who's going to do something about it.
